.In the spring of 2019, the Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) was in the middle of building a new, 32,500 square-foot library in Annapolis, Maryland. It was time to select and contract for the audio- visual suite in the new library’s meeting rooms. Having to develop and execute a Request for Proposals- level purchase would have been a daunting task. Fortunately, AACPL was, and is, a member of MEEC!
With MEEC’s extensive audio-visual approved vendor list, we were able to move quickly and find the right vendor in less than a month.
We worked with Visual Sound Solutions to install a near-theater video, sound, and teleconferencing system in the new library. The system features three independently programmable video screens, near- theater-quality sound, in-ceiling microphones, and wireless microphones for podiums. Our customers love the enhanced experience the system brings to our film festival programs. And the meeting room experience is so good that our County Executive holds his cabinet meetings at the library!
