MEEC has had an agreement with Microsoft since July, 1999. The current Microsoft Agreement began on August 1, 2005. This program allows MEEC institutions to acquire desktop applications, operating system upgrades, and MS Core Client Access Licenses.
The agreement is managed through Bell Industries who won the competitive bid to act as a reseller for Microsoft products to MEEC members. Bell Industries hosts a website (http://meec.bellind.com) specifically designed for MEEC members.
The base term of the current contract will be in effect for an initial period of three (3) years, from August 1, 2005 to July 31, 2008, with provisions for an additional two unilateral one-year options (at MEEC's option), for the total potential contract duration of five years.
