September 27, 2007 Microsoft School of the Future Visit

The first MEEC workshop of the 2007-08 academic year will be one to remember. On Thursday, September 27, 2007, MEEC members have a unique opportunity to visit The School of the Future in West Philadelphia. As noted on the Microsoft website, "The School of the Future (SOF) project is a unique partnership between the School District of Philadelphia and Microsoft Corp. to create a sustainable and replicable model for improved instruction and systemic reform through the use of organizational best practices and innovations in curriculum, architecture, environmental and technology design.

The agenda for the day is listed below. Space is limited. Although all MEEC members are welcome to attend, staff from K-12 institutions may find the event to be most beneficial. Please encourage superintendents, curriculum developers and technical staff to attend.

To encourage participation, MEEC is sponsoring a bus. Although details are not yet finalized, the bus will leave from the UMBC Technology Center and a pick-up is also scheduled for Harford County.

Please RSVP (meec-office@usmd.edu) with your name, institution, title and e-mail address no later than Wednesday, September 19, 2007. Also, please indicate if you will be taking the bus and from what location. Names will be added to the list of attendees on a first come first serve basis.
